Superstitions, Blog Hops, and New Appliances

It's been awhile since I've done a blog hop so when I saw Tammy's invitation for a Friday the 13th superstitions themed hop I knew I had to participate. She made these fantastic cat beads, offered a chance to receive one free or for a few of us late arrivals, there were a few to purchase! I was very excited to particpate and absolutely love the theme.

I really love this combination of beads and ribbon...I mean who can resist a hand dyed ribbon named Caludron!?! Certainly not this witch. I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to bring it all together but I had plenty of time and let's face it...I do a lot of creating in the 11th hour so to speak. So I set it all aside, periodically pulling it out to consider design possibilities.

Now for a slight detour...about a year ago our stove/oven broke so we have been cooking everything in microwave, crock pot and toaster oven for all this time...due to financial hardship we have not been able to replace the appliance, but we've managed to get by and cook some very good meals with our limited means.

So last Monday I realized I better get to figuring out what I would be designing and then the call came...we were getting a new stove delivered Thursday...did I mention our garage is FULL of stuff with only a minimal walkway from door to door...

So between work and daily tasks now I have to make a path in the garage to get the new stove into the house and make a spot for the old stove until it can be hauled away! Needless to say my muse totally jumped ship at this point but I did get the path clear...

Tomorrow my son will stop by after work and attach the plug then we will have a working stove again...not sure what to make first but Papa Murphy's take 'n bake pizza sure sounds good!

So I apologize for not having a finished piece to show but sometimes life just takes on a life of it's own... Please do take a moment and check out the other participants listed below...I am sure they have created some wonderful pieces since they are very talented designers. TaTa for now~Kari

Color me intrigued

I am very intrigued by the color palette you have laid out. I can't wait to see what you make and hope you'll share a photo of the final design when your muse is back on the job. Congrats on the new stove. Pizza seems like an appropriate christening meal. Thanks for joining the hop.

Thanks Tammy! I'm hoping

Thanks Tammy! I'm hoping she'll return this weekend and I will definitely share photos of the final design.

Yay on the new stove! I have been there where all the cooking was done in a first generation microwave and a crockpot. Be sure to let us know when your muse comes back to visit.

I hope it's soon and I will

I hope it's soon and I will definitely share. As for the stove...very excited and already planning some holiday baking!

Yay for the stove!

I love seeing what you make, Kari, but I like it even more that you have a working stove again. Enjoy your pizza!

I hear you. Although I had

I hear you. Although I had my design in mind and supplies all set aside for challenges I usually wait until the last minute to create them. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Oh, and I LOVE the name of the ribbon!
