Bead Peeps Swap 'n Hop...the big REVEAL!!!!
FINALLY! It's time to show off our designs and hop around to see all the talented artists fabulous creations! I am going to get right to my reveal because...I am just to excited to wait anymore! If you didn't have a chance before here is the post I did on my partner and here is the post about what I received...now on to the designs!
First up, but last created is a necklace. I wish I had taken progress pictures on this one...I spent all day trying different, new to me, wire wrapping techniques. I ended up scrapping them all and going for this simpler style but I did have some interesting 'failures' along the way ;)
I do love the way it turned out. Everything except the copper wire and green seaglass is from my swap partner. I really love this large bead with all its neutral colors and then just a pop of green here and there! The accent beads and leather Betony included seemed a perfect combination. On a side note, my daughter and youngest child turned 20 yesterday (May 1). This necklace is here colors and style so it was her special birthday gift and SHE LOVES IT!
Here is a little up close of the links and wrap closures. No clasp, just slips over her head for easy wear and perfect layering style!
Bracelets, bracelets, bracelets! Anyone who knows me knows I love to layer, stack, and pile on the artisan jewelry. If done properly you can wear a TON of beautiful, artisan jewelry all at once! So I actually made these bracelets first...almost immediately when I opened the package. I have worn them several times. They are definitely some of my favorite jewelry items! This first one may get a tiny bit of rework...I have more of the batik lampwork from Genea Beads and I may add one to the chain side...just because it's a little plain and lonely with no beads! ;) The Believe bracelet bar is from Betony. I added all the beads from my stash of special artisan beads along with waxed linen and brass for the metal elements.
The daisy bead set was perfect for a bracelet. The beads are a nice small size so it's somewhat delicate. I added some jasper (?) beads to the chain for a bit of dangley goodness and used copper for the metal components and chain.
And for my final piece...another gorgeous bracelet. The sun charm was part of a set with the believe bracelet bar but I decided to get more, more, more by separating them. :) I've added an assortment of czech glass in turquoise, green and red which I think really highlights the rustic beauty of the sun charm. It's all knotted up on waxed linen with silver metal components.
This final picture shows the whole stack together...a big pile of GORGEOUSNESS! Although each bracelet is beautiful on it's own, I find I like wearing them all together best. So that's it for me...I still have several goodies I am adding to my stash for now.
Thanks to our wonderful hostess, Linda! A HUGE thanks to my awesome partner Betony! I am so glad I had this opportunity to meet you and get to know you. The best part of swap 'n hops like this is making a new friend, especially one as delightful, inspiring and crazy as you! XO
